if you are familiar with the hardware, do it yourself. If not, buy a brand machine. Never Never buy hardware in Chinese shop if you are not familiar with the hardware.

It depends. What do you want your machine to do? Play game? or simply surfing the web and sth text work?

more for practicing web development. so a lot of apps have to be installed, such as visual studio, ultradev , sql and even dreamweaver and flash. web navigation and text process are also necessary. for cost's sake, i can sacrifice game function. :(

So you had better buy a brand machine. The disadvantage of brand machine is its weak 3D ability.
