I am really disappointed for the attitude that the Immigrant Ministry took towards Chinese New Immigrants. Just very curious that I paid for about one thousand dollars for landing fee like all other new immigrants from China and all over the world and where does the money goes to? Why immigrants from mainland China already became the largest quantity of source of immigrants while you only pay little attention for them? Could this be called discrimination?
As most of new immigrants can not find a job in Canada, many of them already return back to China. We are well qualified but the stupid occupation associations refuse to acknowledge our technical background. Especially in engineering field and Medical field. Do you think the education in what you called Common Wealth really more strict than Chinese education? To be honest I have the chance to see the textbooks of grade 12, it is as easy as grade 9 in China. I have 66 curriculums in my Chinese university, and most of the Canadian University only have 20-30 courses. In China that only about 1% of the population have Bachelor degree but in Canada more than 10 to 20%, so are we unqualified and worse than those Canadian students who are just some dudes and never study hard?
I hope we should be equally treated and really hope some wise people in your office (if there are some) could research in detail what is the Chinsese university education looks like and have a comparision between what you called Common Wealth and China's education system.
