How collection agency works.

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Many small collection agencies are operated by cheap labours/call girls. They do nothing more than sending your standard letters threatening you or keep bugging you on phone. They do not get any commission until they successfully collected the debts. After a while, they quit. The creditor may then find someone else, and continue bugging you, or totally give up on you. Your credit rating will not be affected by such small disbute. They will have hard time to just find a collection agency because most of the agencies deal with business to business only.

The creditor may choose to take legal action against you in the court. That will cost them minimum $100. In your case, if you refuse to pay, they can do nothing about it. And nothing will happen to you.

DO NOT extend my advice to any situation. In the cases where you have disbute with large financial institutions (banks, credit card companies), or you have a clearly writen agreement/contract with other party about your obligations, your credit rating may get affected, and you may get sued.

After giving my advice to you, I recommend you to PAY that $2 thing. It does not worth to argue such small thing. I am sure that, like everybody else here, you've got enough big headaches ahead of your career and personal life. I strongly believe that you are innocent in this case though.     本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛十月底接到MAXFONE长途电话公司的推销电话，因为推销人也是中国来的移民，而且他们提供的打中国的汇率也低(贪小便宜)，欣然同意转去他们公司，11月1日长途正式转入他们公司（正赶上涨价）,当日有急事打中国，早上拨时听到电话提示:我公司打中国的汇率已升至0.47元，如继续请按1,按照提示按了1,可是未能拨通,因急着上班,只好等到下班回到家再试,No luck，试了两次还是不行,于是放弃转其他公司了,不曾想前日收到该公司的帐单,未打通的3次电话按4分钟连税收我2.16元,钱虽不多，但觉得有点冤，所以拨通该公司的Customer Service, 先后与两位讲英语以及一位讲国语的小姐理论，她们的态度是统一的:"如果你现在是我们公司的客户，我们可以给回Credit，但因你已转走，钱一分不能少必须交"。我的态度也很强硬：电话没打通，我就不交，她们都是一句话，如果不交钱，我们就送collection agent,考虑你的信誉吧，我提出跟Manager谈，答复是一致的:Manager不在，我是Supervisor,当然讲国语的小姐通情达理一点，好言相劝;"也就2元多，你就付了吧，今天你也不是第一个了，我们Manager不会跟你谈的"，我问:"即然不多，你能付吗?"回签显然是否定的，而且很让人不高兴的是三位小姐都是毫不客气的挂断电话。这样的服务实在让人生气，想问大家，这个钱该不该我付，如果送到collection agent,最坏的结果会怎么？有人有这方面的经验吗？先谢过了。更多精彩文章及讨论，请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
