舞蹈吧?If you mispronounce “I like food” as “I like foot” or “ I cook myself” as “ I cock myself” would that not make people think you are strange or even some sort of fetish? 发音的确很重要。

As a matter of fact it is closely related to what you are talking about. It is too often that people make such mistakes and that greatly reduce their self-esteems and their value in others’ eyes.

If you refer to Jean Chrétien then you are misleading yourself. Don’t try to excuse your poor pronunciation. Admit but try to improve. That’s it. Never say IT IS NOT important. IT IS and always will be.

IT IS NOT important

Not to you and that's fine. I guess your next goal is to kick Harper out of his seat then no coding ever. Good luck.

HA HA HA
It feels so useless to argue with you. Why isn't Chretien a good example?

If you think you can compare with Jean then you are totally wrong and overly rate yourself. As a French Canadian he has accent but he is articulate and makes himself well understood. While yours or other fellow Chinese’s? Not sure at all.

I like people that are confident but can not agree with those oversell themselves or deny a simple fact.

The simple fact is Chretien has big pronunciation issues but people understand him. The simple fact is many Chinese speak relatively fluent English with heavy accent but people understand them. The simple fact is pronunciation is not that important.

It is always and will be ever and you can never change it. Or perhaps when you make it to Jean’s position. Good luck -:)

So you mean people didn't understand Chretien when he was a nobody?

Not relevant.

Then why is Chretien's position important to our argument?
-wincity(toad 会英文的红卫兵);

You brought it up but you are not even a friction of Jean, not comparable to him… That's why I say it’s irrelevant.

Something really wrong with you.

Jean’s pronunciation is not the same as many Chinese’. Not comparable whatsoever. His English is good, proper and that’s why he made his way to the top and that’s why Canadians understand him.

That's exactly my point. As long as your English is good and proper, a little pronunciation problem is NO big deal. For you not to hire someone just because of some pronunciation issue is just ridiculous.

“A little pronunciation problem” does not mean poor English. But if one can not make “food, foot, cook, cock, sixteen, sixty” or what ever clear enough to be understood then they are done.

When hiring new resources for my projects I never offer a job to someone that doesn’t make himself/herself clear. Effective communications first and foremost come from proper pronunciation of the language.
