本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Today I want to talk about a few popular books that I read. You might have read some of them already. If not, I totally recommend them and you won't regrect spending the time reading them.
Personally, I love non-fiction books, so most of the books I read are non-fiction. Also, these books are not the most recent books (I haven't got time to read the updated best seller books listed on amazon).
Fiction
The Twilight saga collection: I know this has been so popular now that almost all the women in town have read it. I also know they are kinda teen books that talk about vampires and the love story between vampires and human beings. However, I have to admit that it has a very intriguing and interesting story line, so intriguing that I couldn't put them down when i was reading them:-) btw, if you are looking for a gift for a teen girl for Christmas, this might be a good choice. You can find the collection in costco.
Non-fiction
1. Eat Pray and Love: This book came out last year talking about a woman's journey of self-discovery. After her troubled marriage and nasty divorce, she went for a LONG trip to recover, rediscover and also learn to appreicate life once again. She went to Italy for great foods, India for inna peace and Bali for love and passion. This is the review from Amazon:"if Gilbert's adventures combine a challenging spiritual quest with dreamlike travel experiences. Her struggles with inner pain are real and gripping, while the exotic locales stoke the reader's appetite for more. She seems to mix it all very well -- inner growth, vocational renewal, and the best kinds of friendship."
2. Outlier: This is one of the serie of books written by Maocolm Gladwell, a very brillent writer. This is a book about successes, but this book gives you a totally different perspective on successes and why some people are meant to be successful with their lives. Btw, the funny thing is it talks about why Asians are good at math:-) Very interesting book, strongly recommended!
3. The last lecture: This is written by a professor who used to teach at Carnegie Mellon University. The book was about the last lecture he gave before he died last year. He was a very inspring person with lots of inspring life lessons.
I know you guys probably have read lots of other interesting books too. It'd be great if we can share here:-)更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
