THE SEER AND THE SEEN
by In Gowan Ring
The sands collect the signs of the ocean
The winds hold sway to swell the motion
The breeze that breathes upon the skin
The leaves that leave yet only a skein
Along, within, and through the years
As stray as they never knew the way
Allay the doubt, subdue the fear
Afraid they never knew your name
These seven years are not so long
But long enough for what has come
Or may have gathered at your seat
Or might have blossomed at our feet
Along, within, and through the years
As stray as they never knew the way
Allay the doubt, subdue the fear
Afraid they never knew your name
I gather at the heels in one more stand
Briars at the feet, flower in hand
The delicate world that wrapped around
The disparate soul that it surrounds
Along, within, and through the years
As stray as they never knew the way
Allay the doubt, subdue the fear
Afraid they never knew your name

Mornings Waking Dream
by In Gowan Ring
Shimmers splendent merge, laden tendrils waver
Descending drops of water disperse in lucid layer
A smile spread over rainbow sky
Refracted in the raindrops crying eye
They fall away to where the sun hangs brightly
Trickling down where on the dews are shown
In the play of moments moving lightly
On the grounds of morning's blooming down
Every hour of every day, every leaf on every tree
Each expression borne of every thought
A sudden joy swarmed to a heart
with open arms reaching out
Through time to set a place for the unthought
On that day the welcome is inviting
With chime, ceremony and good cheer
In the play of moments moving lightly
To the sounds of morning breaking clear
Here the naked child among the others 'neath the sun
Some thrust forward like snakes
Some stood upwise and erect
Some stiffened, taut, virginal and prim
Some bent dead in curves graceful and thin
They grow away to where the sun hangs brightly
Trickling down where on the dews are seen
In the play of moments moving lightly
On the bounds of Morning's Waking Dream
