Many friends invited me to join Church activities since I came to Canada and I did go there several times before. However, I neither got anything nor liked it then. The talks from the pastor were so boring, sometimes meaningless, that I was completely turned off. My impression of the Christian was that they were very nice, very positive and very helpful. But I just found, at that time, their worships were very ridiculous to me. Because by then, I wasn’t aware of the underneath spiritual meaning that supports them: God’s blessing and God’s promise of an eternal life.
I have started to be interested in Christianity and to convert to God since I listened to a series of speeches by远志明(http://www.cgbconline.org/Common/Admin/showNews_auto.jsp?Nid=566&Charset=gb2312) and read the book “游子吟” written by冯秉诚 http://www.livingwater4u.com/reader/b_youziyin/youziyindex.htm. The speeches and the book are very influencing and convincing. Despite the content of religion, the speeches and the book by their nature are quite intellectual and informative.
